Located on 30 acres in the beautiful highlands of Oro-Medonte Blackpool Golden Retrievers was founded by Darryl and Michèle Tuominen.

Breeding Goldens has been a hobby of ours for over 22 years we understand the need for testing all our stock for hips, elbows,heart,eyes and thyroid annually. We only breed cleared dogs and select only the dogs with friendly, fun loving temperaments to produce our healthy happy puppies. To do this we decided to keep our kennel small in order to raise all our dogs in our house. This was truly the only way to truly know what type of temperament they have and to learn how they get along with human visitors and doggy family.
Our priority is to breed only the best to produce sound minds and bodies. Our dogs are not only house pets but are also our hunting, obedience, agility companions and conformation champions. All our breeding dogs have over 10 generations of hips, eyes and 7 generation of hearts cleared in their pedigrees. We have their hips and elbows cleared by either Guelph, OFA and/or PennHip, their eyes are certified by an ophthalmologist annually and hearts are cardiologist-screened for heart disease such as SAS. But since there is no precise science to all of this yet, and that breeding is still a gamble we offer a written guarantee on all our puppies. Visit our "Guarantee" page. Darryl and Michele both have full time jobs. Michele as a school teacher and Darryl is and OPP Staff Sergeant. Since breeding is only a hobby of ours we might not have a pup ready for you tomorrow so reserving one of our dogs might require time and patience.
